The VoiceMaster Speaks at Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino Film 2020

Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino is the FDCP’s flagship film festival showcasing premiere Filipino movies in celebration of Buwan Ng Wika. The screenings and special events of PPP were held through an online streaming platform managed by the FDCP called the FDCP Channel with the theme “SAMA ALL” from October 31 to December 12, 2020.

Filipino motivational speaker Pocholo “The VoiceMaster” Gonzales was invited to be a moderator in a panel discussion about VISUAL STORYTELLING FOR KIDS, alongside Film Director/Cinematographer Che Espiritu, 3D Animation/Producer Cris Dumlao, and Children’s Book Author and Comics Creator Russel Mollina. The talk lasted from 4pm to 5:10pm. Featuring artists from different perspectives and varying mediums, the session focused on how storytellers develop narratives taken from simple to complex topics and themes, and written and developed to connect to younger audiences.

The VoiceMaster began the talk with an energizer, making the audience even more excited for the rest of the panel talk. The session was very entertaining and educational, with topics focusing on creating and producing shows and movies for a younger target audience. Visuals help children see with their eyes, while stories help them see with their minds, and when those two come together, a child’s ability to learn skyrockets. They discussed how important it is to produce educational content while at the same time catch a child’s attention.

Pocholo also shared his experience producing the movie Dayo: Sa Mundo ng Elementalia. Of course, The VoiceMaster didn’t pass up the opportunity to dazzle the audience with his famous voice acting skills, impressing the audience with his impersonation of cartoon characters and celebrities. The talk ended in a light-hearted tone, with Pocholo educating the audience and at the same time inspiring them.
